Been a busy fall but we are officially done harvest! Been spending the last few days back in the saddle finally, getting everyone rode after their 6 weeks off! And living up to our program all of our horses have been awesome you almost can’t tell anyone had time off!

We are trying to update the website with new photos and will hopefully get some videos of everyone up for sale over the next few weeks. We have a few new horses up for sale that we are very excited about. Be sure to check out our awesome selection of horses! As always if you see someone you like or have something in mind you are looking for let us know and we will work with you to find what you are looking for.

I am riding full time again. We are taking in riding horses for the winter months. Conditioning, miles, tune ups and show preparation! As always we can tailor your riding program to your horses needs. We ride out in the fields, our arena and haul to a local indoor arena. September Update

Hey Everyone!

Hope you guys are all having a great summer!

Just a few updates from the farm.

Firstly we would like to thank Vickie and Courtney for their purchase of Chicklet! They really loved her and we have already heard great things back! They are hauling her around and having a fantastic time! We wish them luck as they seriously start to pattern her for barrels and gymkhana events! We are excited to see them succeed over the next few months and years!

Secondly Thank you to Summer for her purchase of CS Docs Muddy Karmen! Buying her for an all around horse ready to go sorting, cutting, reining and more! Summer has agreed to let us show Bella to attempt for Year End Open Cow Horse Champion Oct 18! Very excited she allowed us this opportunity to finish off Bella’s great opening year showing!

We have decided to no longer offer Smart Lil Catolena “Cosmo” for sale. She is showing amazing talent and disposition and we have decided to finish her out as far as she lets us take her! Super excited to see where that is!

Onto other news we can no longer offer cattle work as our awesome summer heifers have left us. Just in time for this skiff of snow today…

We have only a few nice broke mares left to sell! Hannah is a nice 4 yr old and Missy is left for our 3 year olds. These girls are all super nice and have their own special talents that you should come check out if you are looking for a nice horse to grab up before winter! We have their new videos up as well! Check out their pages for the links.

Our other 3 year olds are coming along nicely as are our 2 year old prospects. Reasonably priced and as always you get a discount on training for horses bought through Diamond 4 Performance horses! That’s how much we love our horses!

We are super pleased to announce that two of our 2 year  olds: Smart Legends and Duallin For A Date, are CANADIAN SUPREME NOMINATED! This makes them eligible for a special purse at any of the Supreme events as 3 and 4 year olds!

We also have some amazing yearlings that are looking great coming into fall!

We always welcome visitors and our horses love to see new people!

NARCHC Lloydminister Show

Another great weekend with the Northern Alberta Cowhorse Show in Lloydminister!

CS Docs Muddy Karmen aka Bella had another great weekend showing! For her second show with less than ONE YEAR of riding and on cattle sporadically she really was in the groove this weekend.

Saturday she scored a 66.5 in the reining however there was a rider error that resulted in a zero score, had that not happened she would have placed Saturday in the Open Cowhorse. She tried hard with the cattle in the cutting but they were tough and fast.

Sunday she didn’t skip a beat we tied for 4th  in the open cutting (out of 7) and placed 2nd in the Open Cowhorse (Out of 6)!

So very happy with this mare she is trying so hard even when a lot is being asked of her! Her athletic ability and trainability is really showing out in the show pen. It is amazing that she is placing against bridle horses or even horses with a pile more miles.

Stay tuned for our October show!

August is Coming!

Here is a recap on everything that has been happening at the Ranch here!

We have Chicklet back with us and she is for sale again. Not her fault money problems on the other end. They really did love her! We have a new video up so please check it out if you are looking for a horse that would be great barrel racing! She can be found under Mature Horses!

A couple thank you’s that I am behind on. Firstly thank you to Zach on his purchase of BSR Lil Bay Devil aka Whya. I am sure he will have lots of fun roping off of her in the coming years! Next thank you McKendrick Ranch for their purchase of Boots! He went to a nice facility and home where he will have lots of children to pet and love him. And finally to Charlene who has purchased BSF Kabootle aka Spice! They’re off to the sorting and penning arena where they will have lots of fun and pull some nice checks! Very thankful for the good homes these horses went to!

Things are going great with all the horses now that we have some great weather we are getting lots of work done! All of our colts are currently getting started and doing fantastic. Cosmo is showing tons of talent on cattle with a huge stop and lots of rate. Bella is also really getting snappy through her turns and grabbing some ground in her stops and getting a lot more solid in her reining. And Missy is really starting to stop and grab some ground so her cutting has improved immensely! Very excited for the second show for Bella and Missy in Lloydminister Aug 9/10! Should see a lot of improvement in our scores!

We have lots of interest in horses right now so if you have had your eye on anybody please let me know so I can give you a fair chance to come and look! I am more than happy to go and get more pictures or videos!

Cayley Wilson Clinic

This weekend we were very excited to host Cayley Wilson from Abbotsford BC for a cowhorse clinic! The weather was not ideal Saturday however our ground held up very well and Sunday the sun was shining and made for a beautiful day! Everyone got lots of riding in and had a great time.

We are looking forward to having Cayley out again later in the summer and we will be posting dates so stay tuned and contact us if you would like to ride!

First Show!

So our first show this year was June 14/15 2014. The first show for both CS Docs Muddy Karmen (Bella) and Gayla Going Big Time (Missy). Unfortunatley with May being so busy and the tons of rain we got in June they had quite a bit of time off. However they showed tremendous try!

Missy was shown Saturday in the open cutting and scored a 63. Mostly raw talent as we have not worked many cows!

Bella scored a 64 in the Open cutting placing 3rd Saturday. For the reined work Saturday she placed 2nd even having a bit of a rough run. However Sunday she shined! She placed 1st in Open Fencework and scored the highest fence run and won the High Fence Run Sweater!

Thank you NARCHC for the great show and Clint Swales for Judging!

Overall very happy with my horses who had very little preparation for this show! We will get back into the swing of things and be on fire for next time!!

Spring is finally here!

Our arena is dry and is being put back to work. Very busy time of the year for us as we are starting to calve out our cows, customer horses in for training, starting our own 2 and 3 year olds and also spring seeding!

Make sure you check out our prospects as I have been adding tons of new pictures. As always Facebook is the most up to date! They are all looking great and I have even added a few videos of our colts moving out in the roundpen. All the 3 year olds will be started by end of May and their prices will increase with more training!

Getting very excited about the start of show season! Texas is looking great for the penning season! Bella and Misse are showing lots of improvement and looking good for our cowhorse shows! Should be a very exciting season for us.

I am starting to book more lessons so contact me to book. I have great lesson horses and they are private lessons unless you want to book a group!

July is now full for training so I am booking for August 1! And some spots are already taken so book early. I will not be taking in horses for September so I will be booking for October. During the winter unless we have an agreement I will only take started horses starting in November because I will not have a roundpen (Snow).

That is all for now!!

Hey everybody just gonna give a little update.

I am officially back from Camrose. All the ponies are back with me and are they happy to be home! Everyone is shedding out like crazy and looking great after the winter. Lots of spring time tom foolery is being had out there!

With this warm weather our outdoor arena only needs about 2 more nice days and it will be dry and usable. Very exciting! We are also going to be getting more sand brought in this spring.

Our summer heifers will be here around middle of June just in time for the clinic! 2 spots left to fill!

Over the last month we have sold a few horses. Chex My Mazda Out aka Mazda was sold to Caitlin as a cowhorse prospect. Pocos Butler aka Quincy was sold to Megan. Chicklet was sold as a barrel prospect to Haley.

We also have some new horses to add to our group! Welcoming Buck, a yearling double Peptoboonsmal dun roan colt! In the process of getting halter broke but he is catching on very quickly! And his 2 yr old half brother Jason who is Peptobooonsmal and Peppy San Badger bred. 2 very nice prospects I am looking forward too! Also from the Northlands Performance Horse Sale we welcome Gayla Goin Big Time aka Missy. A 3 year old filly sired by High N Wicked! Very Flashy well minded mare that will be shown this year in cowhorse.

Speaking of cowhorse the Northern Alberta Reined Cow Horse Club Has some dates picked!

May 3 Clinic and May 4 Schooling Show in Cold Lake

June 14/15 Show in St Paul

Aug 9 Show in Lloydminister

Oct 18 is the Year End finals!

We will also be hosting practices this summer although those dates are still to be decided.

Very exciting summer ahead!

Could it be Spring??

Unfortunately I think winter will give it a couple more kicks at the can before spring is here for good.

BUT man does it feel nice! The horses are all loving the warm weather, taking full advantage to roll without their blankets on and lots of shedding! Recently the 3 yr old fillies (2011) decided to try and help me with my chores. I had to drag a tarp to a different pen and this is their version of “helping out”

As you can see very helpful! Such funny girls!

Last week we said goodbye to Chicklet and Mazda. Both off to 2 very good homes. Chicklet is off to Ponoka to try barrel racing with her new family and Mazda is off to 21 Acres Performance Horses. Excited to see how they do in the next few months!

We are welcoming 2 NEW additions. The first is a 2012 filly named Sassy who is by Smart Peppy Date (x Smart Lil Lena) and by a daughter of Kit Dual (x Dual Pep). Very sweet little girl and I am excited  to start her later this summer! The second is an 8 yr old mare Spice who is grand daughter of Shorty Lena and Highbrow Hickory.

Have training spots still open for the summer only a few left!

My saddle is also still for sale, very nice FQHB 15″ PADDED seat. Ride in it for hours!

Beautiful Weather!!

With this gorgeous weather I keep thinking we are a couple months ahead into April!

Texas and Bella are still doing great at the arena. Texas has really improved on his stops and staying in his spins and adding some speed. Bella Sorted for the first time this week after being on cattle only a few times and she loved it and made some really great moves and shows that she really wants to work cattle! Very excited for the summer with these 2 great horses!

Whya and Cosmo are doing great with being started. Whya has a couple rides and is walking, trotting and loping pretty relaxed. Cosmo also has a few rides and is proving to be very soft laterally!

With this warm weather everyone is thinking ahead for spring time and getting out and riding. I am booked for February-April. Still spots open beginning in May 2014. Offer colt starting, refreshers, general performance training and cow horse training. Check out the Training page for more info and prices. Have many references as well! Always welcome to come out and watch a session and I usually try to send photos and video updates.

Enjoy the warm weather!
